New Polo problems - Register

I just the squeaking passenger chair sorted in mine as well as the collapsed drivers side outer bolster. No more squeaks! They replaced the whole seat base foam and put felt on the metallic parts in contact with the foam that caused the squeaking.

Mum got into the Polo this morning to head off to work, and the battery was flat. Nothing was left on – no lights, radio etc. Jump-started it with the Megane and hoped it would start for her after work, but it didn't. We drove down and jump started it again, now it's at home and I've connected the battery charger. I'm sure it'll start tomorrow morning, as it's been on the charger, but I'm feeling like it won't want to start in the afternoon again.

Does anyone know what could be draining the battery when the ignition is off, or do you think the battery itself could be at fault?

3 years would be the minimum life you would expect from a battery under regular normal use and temperatures. You may have just been unlucky to get a battery that is at the low end of the average.

3 years would be the minimum life you would expect from a battery under regular normal use and temperatures. You may have just been unlucky to get a battery that is at the low end of the average.

The RACV should be here near midnight to install a new battery. The car needs to be used tomorrow so it had to happen tonight.

Just bought mine, having a few small issues, might need to read the manual, but has anyone had the following issues?

Turn on the front fog lights, turn them off, and then one of the fog lights stays on
2nd, the bluetooth touch screen sometimes doesn't turn on when I start the car, which is annoying.

The bluetooth screen,if u sit in the car n wait for 30sec before you turn on the car.it will turn on,its annoying so i just use the rcd510 directly.

Fog lights: are you sure you haven't left an indicator on or have the steering wheel turning to one side? It's likely to be the cornering light staying on.

No I havent, see attachment , I discovered today that one foglight is also on when I turn the headlights on, this is with the front Fog lights in the off position

The photo shows the cornering light illuminated, not the fog light. If it is on even without the indicator or steering wheel then it must be some sort of electrical problem. I'd see your VW dealer and get them to look at it.

Pretty sure those bottom lights are the foglights as they dont flash or illuminate when I turn the blinkers on

the bluetooth should come on instantly without waiting. Having said that, mine has remained sleeping maybe 3 times in the 18 months I have had it. Its still my least favorite feature of the car. I've never questioned it at the dealer.

Such a piece of junk. I was glad the day I disabled it and fitted an RCD510 to use instead. Money well spent.
