      • Stupidly forgot to turn the LEDs on for most of them!

When I have some more time on my hands I've got a few locations in mind that would make for some great photos. Perhaps after her first wash.

        • Hey payno, I don't see any photos. When I click on the quote button I can see that you've put those photos in drop box. I can manually copy the addresses to another tab and it loads, but it's not showing on the forums. I think it's because drop box doesn't leave the filename and extension and then the forums don't know what to do with them...

Try using photobucket or imageshack etc.

                  What is that?

They look nice.. how do you like them Corey?
I noticed today some longer shifters would definitely be useful when turning.

                    • I love them. I use them all the time. I don't think that the "M mode" in the DSG is anywhere near as useful without them.

I typically sit closer to the wheel than a lot of Australian's would. My wrist comfortable can touch the top of the wheel etc. But I have always driven with my hands at 9 and 3, like race car drivers. My hands rarely leave those positions when I'm turning, unless I need more than 180 degrees of wheel, then I will reach with the appropriate hand before turning into the corner.

Given that's my driving style, these S2TPP replacement DSG paddles are AWESOME. They feel great, they work great, and they are just so much easier to "reach for" in those situations where you've had to move your hands due to it being a very tight corner or pulling out of a driveway etc and needing to shift to 2nd.

If you drive at 10 and 2, then really, the stock paddles are useless and these are a must.

They look awesome and really "finish off" the look of the "drivers view" in the interior (as you can see from the first photo in that thread).

                      Any negatives?
They're not easy to install. Or more correctly, it's not easy to get the airbag/horn cover off the MK6 Golf steering wheel! Two people and a few hours (on your first go) with great light, a mirror, and a few different flat blade screw drivers on hand is a must.
They extended back further than the stock paddle shifters. So for those with "big hands" or "fat fingers", there might not be much space left between the paddles and the indicator/washer stalks. I feel it's more of an issue for people who don't drive at 9/3, but then I don't know, I don't have this problem (a few others have noted it though, so I'm mentioning it here for completeness).
In summer, there have been a few times when they've been hot to touch after the car being in the sun. However, <30 seconds with the aircon blowing on them (vents can point to them nicely in the Golf) and that niggle is resolved. They're aluminium, so the "problem" and fix is a "well duh" as far as I'm concerned

So I thoroughly recommend them to anyone who wants to use M on their DSG more, but thinks the stock paddles are too small etc.

                        • I agree. Nice pics, except maybe that first one. The nose comes honking out at you. A bit too much wide angle maybe? I ain't no pro photographer, so what do I know, really. Otherwise, car and (other) photos look great! Love the plate!

And you just confirmed I made the right choice with my black!
