Interesting sump. Ours has just started leaking too - although at nearly 160k km, can't complain so will put a standard part back in. The 6C GTi's are a top car - it always makes me smile.

Managed to pry the GTI out of my son's hands and replace it with the Up! for a few weeks to get some work and a major service done.

1. EOFY sales meant a Stg3 clucth from Harding Performance was acquired and Prestige and Performance in Brisbane did a great job (its a big job ie subframe lowering) to install it.

2. I finally fitted an aluminium sump ... it turns out the shape internally of the 2.0 EA888.3 sumps are different to the 1.8 EA888.3. For some reason the Polo's sump is deeper around the pickup and the "cheap" aluminium sumps out there does not clear the oil pickup. Sourced (a quite expensive) aluminium sump and still had to grind down some of the baffles on the floor of the sump to get it to fit. Looks pretty good







































3. Did a full service, including sparkplugs and new rear brake discs and pads. The original pads were properly worn though the discs were still OK. Decided to do both anyway.




Took me 2 weekends to do my bits lol.

Still more to come when I replace the aftermarket front bumper with and OEM 1.
