Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • DSG thump into ODD gears..clutch needed?

    I have a 2015 Polo 6C1 81kw with gearbox code QHY 7 speed gearbox.

    ISSUE
When I first start and put into D it takes approx 5secs before D1 shows on dash which is when I know 1st is selected and I can take off.

When I take off it is like someone dropping the the clutch in a manual as the car jolts forward. 1st to 2nd gear change is fine, but 2nd to 3rd jolts as well currently 105,000km owned since 70,000km had issue when I bought it.

    ASSUMPTION
To me I just assume that the clutch that handles the odd gears is worn hence the delay in being applied.

    QUOTED
I have had a quote from VW for the clutch kit from $1300AUD and Veale $921AUD (trade price).

    RESEARCHED
I don't know the part number and thought through process of elimination I could find the clutch kit on the web get the part number and then search around for online prices but after on an off searching over multiple days I still can't work out what clutch it is wet/dry?.

ps I am mechanic so looking to replace myself.

I haven't ever done any work with DQ200s (thankfully) but there must be aftermarket options available eg:
