  • 2012 GTI Polo DSG fluid

Hey guys, now that my car is out of warranty, starting to do work on it myself. I’ve read in a few places that the 7 speed DSG in the Polo 6R has a lifetime fluid and doesn’t need to be replaced.

So just confirming, do any transmission related fluids need to be replaced? And if so, how often?

    Cheers

Dont believe any of that “lifetime fluid” nonsense.

The DSG fluid in the 7 speed can most certainly be changed - in fact changing to a different oil is one of several things VW did with them to try and rectify the issues in these DSG’s as well as software updates.

There's manual gearbox fluid in the gears part of the box and hydraulic fluid in the front, mechatronics section. No noticeable change in any of the ones I have done.

Yup sealed for life my arse

I would get it changed it won't hurt

My box is recommended to be serviced at 120k ! i would not ever leave it that long that service interval is for the 5 year lease guys so it does not show up on the service schedule and makes it a more attractive buy

        Get mine done every 60k
