Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TDi front wheel bearings

Hi. I've had a quick check but can't find any bearings to suit.
I've come across hubs with the bearing in it so is this what I have to do?

Can someone supply me the part number and maybe a link to a vid to give me an idea what to do?
    Thank you.

Usually the bearings are sold with the hub in it on those cars.

I'm sure if you take the bearings out and contact a wheel bearing supplier with the specs you would be able to get them but by that time why not just buy the complete assembly and have the car fixed up in minutes with no bearing press and time needed?

      Thanks mate.
Have the bearing\hub assembly. Checked a video and am a bit daunted atm.
Might have to get local mech to do it for me.

Done one side and vibration gone. Fairly easy. Needed a press.
Have to do the other side cause still noisy.
