Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Passat B8 Variant delivery times

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Harvard Blue 132TSI Comfortline Variant (with R-Line and Luxury Packs) that I ordered in early December, and is FINALLY due at Port Kembla on 31 May. I asked for a 2016 build, and the dealer and I both expected it would hit the production line in mid-late Jan. Wrong!! Try last week of March...then it sat in NW Europe for another three weeks before leaving Zeebrugge on 21 April on its journey to Australia.

Apparently the delay was due to priority being given to the Alltrack at the Emden factory. Frustrating. Six years ago when I bought my then new Mk6 GTI, I ordered in December and had the car in early April.

Anyone else had a similar delay on their Passat order...?

Ok, so my long-awaitedPassat has landed at Port Kembla on Wed 1 Jun. I am hoping I'll take delivery before the long weekend, but I reckon that's unlikely...what's the recent experience of others with the timeframe from arrival in country until dealer delivery...?

My Tiguan in 2015 (off loaded in Melbourne) took 3 weeks for delivery in Sydney. I would say maybe around 10 days to 2 weeks in your case. But depends again how quickly they process it to get compliance plate, trucking to dealer, dealer prep ($2500 car wash lol).
