Is it on par with other VW's of the same era? If you've upgraded your speakrs, what have you done?
Sad the Dynaudio wasn't an option on the early cars....

I have been replacing the early series for nearly 10 years now and it seems the new version isn,t much better . From 2016 onwards is the new style ...

Early GTis - Oil Consumption / rings an issue?
Hi All,
As we know our VAGs do like to consume oil. Friend of mine has found an excellent example 2010 GTI but knows that the EA888 powerplant can be oil hungry. Are they any better / worse than a later mark 6?
I know my MY13 Mk6 GTi at around 60,000km was using around...

Early Mk7 owner in Sydney...
Bought my 103TSI Highline as soon as the model was launched in Australia in May 2013. Chose it over A class Benz that was launched around the same time and glad that I did.
Always been a keen amateur mechanic though less so these days.
Like to be able to dig into the details when needed...

Golf R timing belt
My 2012 Golf R has done 97000km of faultless running. I am looking at trying out some of the "happy laps" sessions but would like advice as to whether I should get an early belt replacement if I am going to subject the engine to 5-6000rpm.
