Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • ATE Ceramic Pads for a 206 wagon

I have a MY18 206TSi Wagon. I decided to switch to the ceramics mainly because of the dust. I ordered through Harding Performance, I also ordered some for the missus's Mk6 Golf hatch. Anyway they've turned up and the box for the Passat fronts says Passat R36 Wagon on the box. I went onto the ATE website (link below) to try and figure out what should be on this car but there's multiple choices. I do know that the pads HP sent are not listed among the part numbers for my car.

Just wondering if the R36 ones are okay for my car? And what is the correct part number I should have on the fronts? Any help appreciated as I'm a bit lost...
    cheers

Post up a photo of your front brakes. I believe the 206 TSi has the same brakes as my car.

I bought some ATE ceramic pads for my Golf GTI Performance (same brakes as the Golf R) and the box also said they suited the R36 on it. Also purchased from Harding Performance. They fitted my car perfectly as intended.

See pics below of the part numbers.

That pic of your boxes of pads is exactly the same boxes & codes they've sent me. I would take a pic but it's persisting down at the moment, I'll get one in a while.

Im almost certain that the 206 Passat has the same brakes as the Mk7 Golf R / GTI Performance so you should be ok.

For reference, the old R36 Passat has the same brakes as the Mk6 Golf R.

Plenty of info on this already; Ceramic Brake Pads

Best to get your info straight from the horse's mouth, so the ATE site is the way to go.

          Here are the part numbers required;

          ATE Brakes: (Front 340x30mm / Rear 310x22mm)
          Front Rotors (340mm): Article №: 24.0130-0225.1 / 430225
          Front Pads: Article №: 13.0470-2617.2 / LD2617
          Rear Rotors (310mm vented): Article №: 24.0122-0219.1 / 422219
          Rear Pads: Article №: 13.0470-7294.2 / LD7294

Even on the ATE site, it does not list the 13.0470-2764.2 / LD2764 for the Passat R36.
But if you do a search for 13.0470-2764.2, it is the same specs as 13.0470-2617.2 / LD2617

As HSY is the sole distributor for ATE Brakes in Australia, what you have been given 351007028C (13.0470-2764.2 / LD2764) is just an old part number, most likely Harding had this on the shelf and was sold to you. If you purchase direct from HSY, they will provide the correct part (up to date part numbers) and will sell you 351007033C (13.0470-2617.2 / LD2617).

351007033C (13.0470-2617.2 / LD2617) is the most up to date part number.

I would be keen for you to give us an update after 10,000kms to see if you are still happy with the ATE Ceramics...

But to answer your question, will it fit, yes.
