Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Engine Bay Fuse Panel Diagram

    Hi B8 forum,
I have an electrical fault in my MY16 Passat B8 Petrol Wagon.
Fuse F5 in the Engine bay fuse panel has blown twice. When this happens the engine is disabled. Not a good situation.
The circuits that fuse F5 is protecting are not described in the owner manual so my local Auto Electricians (I have tried 2) don't know where to look. Google searches have not been successful in finding more fuse box info.

Attached photo shows what the fuse box looks like.

    Questions:
    (1) Does anyone know where I can get detailed fuse panel information for the engine bay fuse and relay panel
    (2) has anyone heard of Fuse F5 blowing due to an intermittent fault.

Failing my own diagnosis, I guess the next step is to go the a VW dealer and spend a lot of money

Thanks in advance for any help
