Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The figures above are for the Alltrack with 6 and 7 speed DSG. From Tech specs on VWA website

Maybe it makes the car heavier. Do the have the weights in the specs? Or maybe something else has changed in addition to gearbox change.

Wet is slower due to increased friction. So the same output requires more input.

5.6l/100km with the 6 speed is good enough for me. lol

Fighting the truckies for my $10 of AdBlue last night was funny. Well, only one was a prick ("cars go over there mate! piss off!"). Others were fine with it.

It may also be due to post-dieselgate tune and changes to testing.

B8 Diesel engines are EA 288 series - not affected by dieselgate so tunes haven’t changed due to that.
              Cheers

Yes you’re right. I’d probably put it down to a higher rated gearbox having slightly higher losses and possibly also the revised car getting tested under different ambient conditions.

But we are comparing wet 6 speed with wet 7 speed on the Alltrack.
