I ended up buying a start / stop cable from ebay from an australian warehouse. It was pretty easy to instal. Car now starts with start/stop deactivated by default. Its made my day! Should have done it years ago!
You can also set it up in a memory mode so it remembers how you had it when...

I have 50k on 2017 passat alltrack diesel. I had to replace water pump around 35k. Out of warranty but VW paid half when i pushed the issue. I also had an airbag replaced under warranty and a leaking A/C drain fixed. A/C drain fix was a bigger problem than it sounds. No other real issues. Of course...Leave a comment:

Cheapest / easiest way to turn off auto start stop default
I would like to turn off the auto start-stop being on by default when you start the car. Is there an easy / cheap way to do this. I would prefer not to spend $150 on OBDEleven since i don't think i need that for any other reason. Any ideas ?
