Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi

I was washing my new Passat the other day and discovered that the front passenger tyre had a large bulge in the wall.
I know that this is dangerous and would like to know what is VW's responsibility since the tyre has only done approx 4000 kms.
If not VW would it be the tyres manufacturer who would replace it since it was probably a manufacturing fault.
I have not hit any gutters or run over any pot holes in the car

I would speak to you dealer mate. no reason why the warranty covers it

It's unlikely they will cover the tyre, they will assume that the "egg" was caused by some sort of impact.

        Continental or Pirelli? 19" yeah?
The reason why I ask is, my Contis had a similar bulge and the State Rep inspected and said that is normal...

        I no longer have Contis...
