  • New Passat Alltrack power limited

    Hi all

Just a quick question- is max power limited on the Alltrack during the run in period at all? Not that I’ve been flogging it but when I was playing with the power monitor I noticed that 130kw was as high as I could get it. The car has done 350km.

    Thanks

Any ideas? The dealer didn’t really know either. They “recalibrated” the performance monitor and said to see how it goes but still the same. Hopefully it will loosen up as it runs in and performs to full capacity.

Usually it takes ~5,000-10,000km to fully bed everything in and get the claimed efficiency/performance.

I can’t comment about the performance meter but fuel economy typically takes this length of time to improve so I’d be guessing it’s a similar situation.

I don’t think there’s a special tune file for early life. It definitely doesn’t get updated at the first service or even 1,000km check.

Thanks - I think you're right - things will loosen up in due course.

Drive it how you'd normally drive.

But obviously don't thrash it or overload it for the first little while.
