Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • R36 drivers seat bolster foam- help

    Hi all,

The foam on the bottom bolster of the drivers seat on the r36 has all but collapsed ( disappointing at 77k) anyway , I hear this is a common problem.

I could probably replace the foam myself by pulling the seat out , but has anyone done this?

Or does anyone know where I can get a factory piece of foam to replace the disintegrated one?

Or maybe a good upholsterer who operate s on the north side of Melbourne ? ( Campbelfield etc)

I bought a new seat foam base from BKS-Tuning.com.
      Part number is 3C0881375AP.
      I haven't installed it yet.
Going to get a friend to help who knows motor trimming as apparently it can be hard work getting the wire hooks back on again under the seat without the right tools and know-how.
