Gas discharge headlights

[Passat my07]

Hi, I've got a problem with our 07 Passat. The gas discharge headlight on the left side won't go onto hi beam. The right goes onto hi beam for a few seconds and then goes back to low beam. I assume the shutter on the left isn't working. Has anyone been through this?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this so I can see if the bi xenon shutter is getting power? Does vcds give you any info on this sort of thing?
