Enigine oil: Use the latest (highest) specification oil available. Oil is the cheapest part in your engine (drive train) and will be there for 15,000km or 1 year.
Transmission and gear oils: Unlike engine oils the different brands of transmission fluids shouldn't be mixed and the same apply to gear oils (even if they’re the same grade and specifications). Approved or meet oil specs more about it in HERE
Buying genuine servicing parts from the dealer and keeping the receipts may help should there be some doubts about faults related to maintenance during warranty period. For your and other road users safety, I suggest that you take your car to professional mechanic for your scheduled servicing.

This thread is only for technical information about R36 I will try to keep it as short as possible and please do not make unnecessary posts in this thread. If you post here than post only technical info related to R36 and don’t be disappointed when it gets copied onto the first post and additional post will get deleted in order to keep it short and useful.

The main headlights with gas discharge bulbs and cornering lights (AFS = Adaptive Front Lighting System) have a “bi-xenon” function.
With conventional “xenon” headlights, the gas discharge bulbs only generate the dipped beam. The “bi-xenon” features makes it possible to generate both the dipped beam and the main beam with “one” gas discharge bulb. To achieve this, an electromechanical adjuster (left dip beam screen motor -V294- or right dip beam screen motor -V295-) uncovers the screened area of the dipped beam on actuation of the main beam function, thus producing main beam light distribution.
This means that with “bi-xenon” headlights the main beam is always automatically adjusted together with the dipped beam.
The main headlights with gas discharge bulbs and cornering lights do not have an “additional main beam”.
The cornering light system consists of the following functions:
Swiveling main and dipped beams (dynamic cornering lights): at vehicle speeds in excess of 10 km/h and steering turned.
Cornering light bulb (static cornering light): when turning into tight bends (bend radius < 500 m) or when turning a corner at vehicle speeds of less than 50 km/h

The cornering bulbs are a H7 55W and the Bi-Xenon is a D1S 35W. The parking bulbs are a H5W.

The manual states for oil - 501 01 or 502 00 for "non Long Life" serviced vehicles. The LongLife approved oil (504 00) is a higher quality and would also be fine. Australian vehicles do not fall under the Long Life service regime.

The original post and my followup post state the oil requirements from the manual. If you feel the need to debate this then take it elsewhere or talk to your dealer / car expert / mate / dog / goldfish / someone who cares.

Yes, but does this mean in normal driving conditions the R36 is running 100% front wheel drive? or is there some rear wheel bias?

100% FWD until slip is detected. This is standard for the Gen2 Haldex controller. You can upgrade the controller to a blue controller and get more aggressive (earlier and higher torque levels) transfer of torque to the rear wheels.

The car reverts to FWD mode when the brake pedal is touched - it takes a competition Haldex controller (a step above the blue) to remove this feature and maintain torque to the rear under braking.
