Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2014 Passat B7 - FSI Highline V6 Value

    Hi,

Just after views on what the value of a 2014 FSI V6 Highline Wagon should/would be?

I got offered $8K as a trade in earlier this month. Was hoping for more like $15K which is what redbook and carsales suggest. Carsales suggests to advertise for $22K

Apparently, “wholesalers won’t touch them due to the gearbox” is what I was told - despite the fact the FSI/R36 gearbox is relatively trouble free (compared to cheaper models - and more so older models of DSG)

    Mine is;
2014 FSI Highline Wagon - Midnight Blue
    125,000km
Sport Pack (Wheels, DCC, Seats etc)
    Dynaudio
Condition is about as good as you would expect for a near on 10yr old family car.
No faults or damage, seat bolsters still good.
just had major service, plus some worn bushings replaced.
    tyres/brakes etc all good

Hard to tell what they sell for as they are quite a rare beast really - even more so with the options I have.

    Cheers.

8k is a joke, and the whole gearbox thing is a cop-out; any good dealer should know that's only with the 7-speed DQ200, but hey low balling is their game.

Not sure how fired up the used car market is still, but to give you an idea, I got my B7 with similar specs to yours ~8 years ago private seller (who was offered $14k trade-in on a new Mazda 6 ) with 60Kkm for $24k

tbh I think it might take a little while to find the right buyer privately, but they will know what they are looking for.

I agree with MIG. A late B7 V6 Highline in Midnight Blue with the Sports Pack and Dynaudio is an attractive proposition, especially given the low kms. I'm sure that someone out there who knows what it is will snap it up but, it may take you some time to find that buyer...
