Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • R36 Bend Light - dashboard alert

A dashboard light came on last week with a message along the lines of “Bend Light Failure AFS - Owners Manual”.

Scoured the owners manual and did not find the alert symbol anywhere, or the error message, or how to fix it.

Headlights don’t bend now when the steering wheel is turned.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the problem and how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

Need to check the fault code from the AFS module address 55. It will tell you what the issue is.

Thanks Kamold. Don’t have access unfortunately. I noticed last night that my right turning light didn’t come on. I will replace that and see if bending comes back on.

Turns out it is not a bend light problem at all despite the wording of the alert. Replaced both turn light bulbs and the alert has not reappeared.
