Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Alltrack Sports Pack Factory Tint

    Hi guys,

My new (2012) Alltrack had just failed a pit inspection due to the tinting being too dark.

Does anyone know if the tint that comes standard with the sports pack can be removed? Or is it part of the glass?

I would have thought that factory tinted windows would have passed the minimum VLT.

    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

    Hi Greg
Not sure if it’s helpful but my 2013 passed with sports pack factory tint in the ACT recently.

      G'day Greg,

The factory privacy glass is dyed as part of the manufacturing process so yeah, it's definitely part of the glass. From memory it should be 35% VLT or so. It should have no problems passing unless another layer of tint has been applied by the dealer or previous owner?

Thanks guys, as it turns out, the car had extra tint applied over the top of the factory tint.
It was sutle enough to be unnoticed, but failed the measurements.

For what it's worth, with stock tint measured 70% at the front and 47% VLT for the rear.

        Regards,
        Greg

          Factory tint is Green.

If yours is Black, then as you have already mentioned, it has been tinted over...
