Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Reverse camera B6 Passat

    I have new head unit to replace the factory one but I also want to fit a reverse camera. I want it as central as possible and found this on Ebay 12 LED Car Rear View Camera For VW Passat B5 B6 Golf Jetta Sagitar Skoda Superb | eBay

    Has anyone used one of these cameras that replace the number plate light? Any better suggestions on where to install the camera?

    It only goes up under where the number plate light is and as it says measure yours as there are different sized models.

    I think this one only fits the wagons as it did in my B7 and the saloons had the popout badge reverse camera which is $795 nowadays
    One down over the number plate would be far too low to see buggar all on a saloon
