Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi guys

Aside from the engine upgrade, are there any distinguishing features between the 2012 and 2013 onwards Alltrack?
The reason being is I wanted to buy a 2013 onwards and I’ve found a vehicle I’m interested in which is advertised as a 2013, MY13.5 (which has the upgraded engine) however the compliance date on the car is Jan 2013. How would I be able to tell whether it is in fact the facelift model? Is there a simple way to confirm this?
    Thanks

To a degree the Compliance Plate Date is irrelevant.
The Build Date in this occasion is most likely the most important date you need.
    In the B7, there should be 125kw / 350Nm (CFGB) and 130kw / 380Nm (CFGC) engines.

Anything complied in Australia in January 2013 would be a 2012 Build vehicle.

So, that would actually be a MY13 125kw / 350Nm (CFGB) (September 2012 release date)

    To get into a MY13.5 130kw / 380Nm (CFGC) (February 2013 release date)

I hope this info helps you...

      Thanks it does

Interestingly when you use red book and carsales and put in a 2013 Alltrack it gives you the upgraded spec which is what is happening here as according to the aus records (rego etc) it is a 2013 vehicle
Is the difference worth me worrying about?
