  • Buying a 2013 Passat Alltrack

    Hey there,
I'm new to this forum and am looking to buy a 2013 Passat Alltrack. Just wondering if you have any tips on things to look out for?
Also, the one I drove today did this thing where as I braked from a slow speed, the engine shuddered a little just before coming to a stop and the auto off kicking in. Not dramatically at all, but I did notice it. Is this something that I should be concerned about? I don't think that it did it every time, but I wanted to make sure it's not a DSG thing... Could it be an idle thing or an auto off thing? If it is something I should be wary of, though, I would love your expert input!
I plan to also get a mechanical check of the vehicle should I buy it.

    Thanks for your advice!

    FYI,
This one is $18000, with 105k on the clock. I’m comparing it to a MY14.5 model with 77k on the clock at $21500 (drive away). I haven’t driven the MY14.5 one yet, I have simply enquired, so don’t have much info about this one.
The 2013 one has been regularly serviced at VW and is a very clean car.
Would love to know your opinions on this comparison too.

Wow these cars have plummeted in value in a few years!

Great prices for you, one thing to check at 100k kays is if the timing belt waterpump has been done yet. Otherwise thats $1K worth of work for you.
