You'd have to think in hillbilly and in my case it would have to be air trapped? surely T/stat wouldnt die straight away?

They fail even when the cooling system hasn't been touched.

Last question is that I guess i will lose most of the coolant when i open the hose so how much do I need to buy to refill it znd then have to burp it again as well Figured on pouring it in with a small gap in the hose then jamming it together when it hits the bottom.

1 x 1.5L bottle of coolant concentrate should be enough. It make 3L of coolant. Though I’d get 2 bottles to have some spare coolant on hand.

Can you clamp the hose with a pair of vise grips ,this should stop any coolant from escaping ?

Use proper line clamps, if you must.

Yeah, they’re quite reasonably priced these days. Certainly cheaper than the cooling system hoses.

Well Im not happy. Today went for a run up to Montville and back and the B+/**$^$y temp gauge sat on 90 everywhere both up and down the hills. Yet last time I tried as said was all over the place. Cant figure it out but reckon it must have been an airlock thats come right. Have it sitting in the garage with the top off the tank to see what happens as it cools down.

Went and ordered the new part and now seems wont need it so if anyone wants one it will be here in a few weeks LOL

You should be happy, since it was an easy fix.
Bleeding the cooling system properly is important, especially in the closed systems.

Well two reasons im not happy
1 Ive wasted $$50 on something I dont need if no 2 was done properly
2 I spent $1500 for the dealer to do it properly.

                                Hopefully it has cured it
