- Hi,
My clutch has failed on my A/C compressor and it's 38 degrees outside! Not wanting to disturb the air-con lines and to save money I'm looking at just swapping the clutch for one from a second hand compressor.
I have looked on Online VAG spare parts catalog, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat. VAG VIN decoder, part number search. *** Online. and for a 5 cylinder 2003 B5.5 it has the part number as (8D0260805K or 8D0260805KX) and (4B0260805B or 4B0260805BX) for a 6 cylinder.
I have looked on e-bay and there are a number of 6-cylinder units (4B0260805B) near me. Question is are they interchangeable? Given that they have different part numbers I guess not but I thought I'd ask just in case.
As I said I'm hoping just to change the clutch unit over however if the compressor is deemed to be no good I'll change the whole thing
