Brake pads..

After 150.000 km on original brakes i was told brake need to replaced on my service. I am happy with oem except dust (lot dust)...question what would you suggest for next replacment...i was thinking brembo pads (not expensive- 120$ pair)...
Any better idea or stick on oem?

ATE Ceramic.
You'll need to replace your rotors in all likelihood also, go with ATE solid rotors.

HSY are the importer but they won't sell direct to plebs. Suggest you ring them and ask who can get them locally to you.

You'll need disc rotors as well. you won't have enough meat on the OEM rotors to machine them properly

Also, have you had a look at the pads yourself? Sometimes the mechs take quite a conservative approach. They probably don't realise that you have got 150k out of them (that you aren't a heavy user of brakes)

No, i am driving like old fart really, i do not have performance car but diesel. Yes, they show me pads...it is time. Also, they suprised pads used for amost 150k

If i need to change rotors then i will go wit kamold's advice - ate brakes and rotors. Only need to find supplier since hsy not cover individuals but bussiness.

Ok check out race brakes or also Volkwerke in Greensborough well done on 150000 out of pads and discs I have only had rear pads done still on original fronts and rotors. There was a guy on here selling Mk5 rotors and pads I believe they fit Passat as well.

I have 170k on my brakes. fronts still have 7mm remaining. rears about 4mm. I don't drive slowly but i do look a long way up the road and don't really brake for corners.
