Spare key

Hi all, one of the things that irked me when I bought my B7 was the lack of spare key.. Dealer proposed to do one but you know the saying once money is parted with all promises are as good as the paper it's written on.

Question is where can I get a spare that's not going to cost >$500?

if the car was bought new it should come with one

I don't know of anyone in ACT but there could be an Auto Locksmith that could do it, you won't be saving much over the dealer though. Also any key programmed to your car that didn't get ordered though the dealer can cause you issues later down the track.

I think you are best off pressing the dealer for it. They aren't cheap as you know.

Here in The ACT there are 2 dealers
1) about $500ish
2) $360 for key blank and $80 for programming.
