  • Toothed belt Change after about 149000km's

Hey everyone needed some help in regards to repairs on my car, it's a 02' passat 4motion sedan. According to the log book the car never had its "toothed belt changed". Runs fine but and I just got it cheap knowing it needed some repairs but should I be worried? Also just confirming this is a timing belt change right everyone? I'm a noob for a reason .

Without a doubt it should have had one by now. What engine is it?

Should've had it done at 105K.

It won't be a cheap job to do, but it's alot cheaper than repairing 30 bent valves.

Wow, that's going on top of my to do list, does anyone have an idea on how much it would cost? I have a friend of a friend who can (99% will have to) help me with repairs but if its too big might have to take it in to the mechanic...........
