Mine arrived in Melbourne about three weeks ago but I haven't got a definite date for delivery yet.

I'm heading up to the Clare Valley soon after getting it - gotta stock up on some riesling and cabernet!

Really? My dealer indicated mid-July delivery (no exact date and would not provide one until the car was officially in the country).

Better not get my hopes up...

        • Just visited the dealer - my car is on the showroom floor.

          Looks absolutely great.

          Am even more excited now.....

It was parked next to a 3.2 Wagon, and looks so much better, the Blue really suits it.

Picking it up on Sunday (am going away tonight until Sunday Morning).

          Has 17kms on it.

Mine has Dunlop Tyres also - but a full size matching alloy in the boot! that is unheard of in euro cars these days.

          Looking forward to sunday!!

Confirmed Global Warming Sceptic. No Longer a VW Owner -Loving my new 2011 Range Rover Sport - bought as VW unable to provide info on the new Toureg despite it being released overseas 12 mths ago. 2008 R36 Wagon, 2006 GTI and 2004 R32 - Gone. Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers

          • Mine's only just arrived in Adelaide today, so it's looking like next Wednesday at the earliest...!

No news re: reversing camera yet, but my dealer hopes/expects that a dealer fitted "Premium Bluetooth" with complete RNS510 integration will be available in a month or so.

            • Congratulations
I don't suppose you know exactly which dunlop tyres your car has?
The Sport Maxx's are decent tyres, whilst the Sport 01's are the ones that crap

Just as a side note. I cannot recommend Barloworld in Mascot highly enough.

this is my second purchase from them, and they always go above and beyond for their clients.

                      Dennis Barbagios is simply great.

Dealers can be difficult at times, and I can be difficult at times. Overall both experiences (purchase and after sales service) have been top notch.

Just thought it should rate a mention.

Similarly, Kate Lawton has changed my opinion of Solitaire Volkswagen. She's bloody fantastic.

Thats surprising Smuts, I have had nothing but good dealings.

that said I have only serviced the last car twice, and had only minor delivery issues which were sorted straight away.

In my experience they have been good - better than BMW, Holden or Saab, who are the others I have dealt with.

                            • Dennis is one of the best salesmen I've ever dealt with. He told me about the R36 the day he found out about it, but unfortunately told me he couldn't deal with SMB on my behalf.
I wish I could have bought the car off him, perhaps I would be taking delivery this weekend as opposed to later this month...

                              • Just my 2 cents... Barloworld Mascot are friendly guys, but hardly professional.

My R36 was due for delivery August 15. Last saturday (seriously) they called to say it had arrived!! Like cars just materialise in front of peoples' eyes?? ! No, actually they're shipped from another continent and take a long time to get here!!

A little notice would have been nice. Seriously unprofessional.

Second, the car came in the wrong colour! I had ordered dark grey and it came in black. Lucky it looked better (I'd made the wrong choice in the first place) so I was happy to take it.

                                Finally, no reversing camera!

I also have an Audi A3 Sportback 2.0T (2005 model) which I bought from Audi Centre Rosebery. They were far far more professional in the way they handled the entire sales process.

I think Barloworld are trying to come to terms with the fact that VW is morphing into a luxury car manufacturer. The above service might be fine for run of the mill, golf / polo type sales, but for a premium vehicle it simply doesn't cut it.

                                Just my 2 cents.

BTW took the R36 to Canberra for work trip the last 2 days... it is a SERIOUSLY amazing vehicle.
