- The first car appears to be fitted with an aftermarket head unit (and probably an aftermarket RVC as well).
- The second car has the older RNS500 satnav unit, which is not MP3 compatible (according to the MY08 spec sheet that I have) - the 'standard' 6-stack head unit is MP3 compatible.
- The second has twice the mileage of the first, but seems to be more optioned up - satnav, electric heated memory seats, sunroof, bluetooth...

You have to look carefully, but there is a difference. The non-bixenon cars have a separate high beam reflector, while the bi-xenon cars just have the park light in that position. If you look between the projector lens and the park light section on the Passats fitted with bi-xenon headlights, you'll see the angled reflector for the static cornering lights.

Here is what the codes in the handbook with the original car decode to. NO XENONS MENTIONED, NO SATNAV EITHER.
Satnav code is 8AY Mine has Xenons but they are not mentioned in option codes but may be in the car codes which are MSU LA8X NV
They came as part of the driving package
Found my Passat codes and Gas discharge headlights are PR number 8IM family is HSW
