From what I understand (I think I read this somewhere ages ago) the 2.0 lt TFSI engines in the B6 Passats had a 6 speed automatic gearbox (torque converter Auto not DSG) therefore it does not require a DSG service at 60,000kms though may need other auto gearbox servicing like oil changes etc later in its life. Best thing to do is check your owners manual.WLF127

Owners manual doesn't specify transmission fluid replacement however it is recommended by independent mechanics. Umai Naa just did my Golf last week and it definately feels smoother. It's peace of mind that your transmission is sloshing around in uncontaminated fluid, could help prevent early retirement.Last edited by kamold; 18-11-2013, 02:00 PM.2011 Skoda Octavia vRS TDI DSG wagon|Revo Stage 1|Race Blue|Leather|Dynamic Xenons w 6000K|9w7 BT|THA475 Amp+active sub|Whiteline ALK|RVC|

Service book doesn't mention it because the schedule was changed about 2 years ago.'07 Transporter 1.9 TDI

I've serviced enough other brand autos in my life to know that by 100,000km that beautiful cherry red auto fluid has turned black. Every 50,000km is what i would work on but 60,000km fits in nicely with the service schedule. You wouldn't leave it any longer if you intend keeping the vehicle.
I'm not sure if it's compatible with VW transmission but Castrol Transmax Z used to do wonderful things for Subaru automatics like removing the 1st/2nd gear change delay followed by a thump.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

Isn't Dex III F the Ford specific oil? LOL.
I know I took a punt when I did the transmax Z in the Subaru but I figured it couldn't change any worse than it was. Converted a few Subaru owners after that.
Just looked at the photos again. 120,000km of easy driving & it was like a chocolate red colour. Supposedly it was changed at 100,000 but there's no way it changes colour that quickly.

The 09G gearbox (Aisin TF-60SN) specifies G 055 025 A2 (Esso/Mobil ATF 3309 or Toyota ATF Type T-IV), which is dyed red.
The 01M gearbox (4-speed) specifies G 052 162 A2 (Esso/Mobil ATF LT 71141), which is dyed yellow.
In regards to Castrol Transmax Z, it is likely to be superior to both fluids, even though I can't verify it. Possible that the friction characteristics may be different compared to JWS 3309/T-IV, but that doesn't automatically mean its unsuitable.

Assume the usual remaining red ATF in the torque converter, mixed with some Castrol Transmax Z that is (apparently) dyed green.
