The quote i got was $9500 for full system or $4500 cat back plus istall. Crazy money when you consider its about a 1/4 of the cost of a good spec low-med k 2nd hand car

Hi tech mufflers in Darlinghurst will make the same thing out of stainless steel for around $1800.00 - fitted.

      Hi-tech Mufflers

And they're Australian made and they have fantastic after service.

      Just sayin...

      Hi All,
Sorry for reviving an old thread, just wondering if anyone has gone for this Hi-tech mufflers option? I love the sound of the SS system but no way the wife will let me drop that kind of money on make-louder bits.

      cheers

SS system is eyewateringly expensive, even just the cat back option!

Does anyone do a dual system all the way back from the headers?

Well, despite my earlier comments, (Happy to eat my words here!) I went with the SS cat-back system with the quieter sports muffler option. I'm glad I went with the less loud option, as this is just fine for me.

There is a small perception of the car performing better than before, but I think its my mind playing tricks etc...

So, for $2.7k it is crazy expensive, but, the install took about 20 mins, all items fitted perfectly and the workmanship is exceptional.

Well worth the price of entry IMHO...!

            Hi all
not trying to hyjack thread but just a bit about Hi Tech SS exhaust. i had one fitted to my 2009 turbo forester,i know different car, but i would have to say it was the best catback i have ever had. no drone, no excessive noise.on the highway barely able to hear unless you planted the foot. perfect noise level for everyday driving and even my wife never complained.i had cause to use their after sales service on a minor matter and they were first rate and very helpful. would highly recommend and i would have got one fitted to my CC but couldnt afford it at the time and as it wasnt an off the shelf item they would have needed the car. i am in brisbane they are in sydney. it may be different now but certainly worth asking them. as a footnote they quoted me at the time to custom make a catback for the CC in SS and fit at $1800.
            cheers

thanks for the replies Timlin and Warrick,

Great info, feedback about HTM, I will definitely contact them when the time comes....

2.7k is less than 1/2 the price of the full system, and only $900 more than the Hitech system, I probably would have made the same choice if I had the funds......when I sell my other car I might do some more investigationing. Anyone wanna buy a MY99 A4 Quattro Avant???

                Cheers
