Hope to see some photos soon. Let us know if you be anything when you pick it up. I expected a bottle of wine, perhaps a small hamper... Nothing!! Even buying a captiva or a falcon entitles you to a gift from the dealer but 50k got me zip!
I got a tote bag, a baseball cap, a pen and a keychain all VW Essendon branded. Be still my beating heart! But better than nothing.
So, yeah, got out new toy today. Facial muscles hurting from the huge grin on my face.
Well almost made it a month before a refill. 880kms with 50 kms on the range. Mixed driving and averaged 7.1. Starting to push it a little bit more nw and it feels great. The DSG seems to perform much better when not nurchering it but rather revving the engine closer to 3000rpm. Obviously most of the power / torque is between 1750 and 2500rpm.
you're doing better than me.
Unless I do a long trip on this particular tank, it is heading for what the MFD informed me I would get when I last filled it to the top: 520km to empty, which would come to 12.3l/100km such is the penalty of local shopping/school/sport trips.
If I can get one decent 200km trip out of town somewhere in the tank, then it'll be in line with what fuelly has reported to me so far: 8/100km

Ouch. So far we've got 250km on it and range says 550, which is what I'd expected, as there is some city driving but a fair bit of country roads. Probably also not yet driving it optimally - too many years with the other crap car led to bad habits.
We've had ours about six months now and couldnt be happier - averaging 6.6 - mainly city but no stop start. One thing - where can u get dash mats for the Alltrack - are they different from a regular Passat?
Why do you want dash mats? They absorb dust and are a real hazard if air bags go off. Modern dashboards are not affected like the old ones that cracked up due to UV. If that's the reason, give them a regular wipe over with an interior protection product and you'll be fine. My 08 passat spent 5 years in the sun with the only protection being a regular wipe with a wet chamois and the dash was as good as gold when sold.
