Well after a longer wait than expected, our new Passat Tdi wagon is here. After the 80km drive home from the dealer i can honestly say i am impressed.

The wife and I were a little worried about our colour choice (Autumn Brown) but when we saw it we were both very happy.

Will post some pics tomorrow, hopefully my son will better so I can Nanolex the exterior and interior. If not it will be a week or so as time is in short supply if I am on babysitting sick child duties tomorrow.

A quick question, reading manuals etc and low and behold in my service manual is a computer print out stating Passat 130kw........I am now curious if dealers are doing software updates on all Passats delivered after Feb.

Anyone know how i would confirm this?

Standard Highline, driver assistance and visibility pack, adaptive cruise, 12way seats. Wanted a few other options but my wife didnt want to wait for it to be made so compromised as the options we got were the ones that were must haves. Dynaudio, sunroof and booster seats were likes not deal breakers so over all we were happy.

Not having mine yet, I don't know where to find it - I was told of my production date by my dealer.

Tracking my boat, it says 41 days from Bremerhaven to Melbourne vi9a Cape of Good Hope/ZA. Add 2 weeks to get the vehicle ready. So very early January production would be possible. In which case your timing was perfect!

Just found build date while preparing to paint protect it. It was a Dec 12 build so obviously they where specing the new 130kw motors earlier than realised.

Interesting. Might check on that on the German forum I frequent, just out of curiosity. Mostly from the fact that my dealer originally insisted that our model would still be a 125kW when I asked, when he should have well known that all Passats post a certain date would be upgraded. Then again, they may be the last to know unless they keep up with Internet scuttlebutt.

PS: what are you using for paint protection? That's on my list as well.

Weather here is a bit crap so hope to get some better pics later. Just spent 7 hours washing, claying, polishing and protecting paint, wheels and glass with nanolex.

Glad you finally got your machine and you're enjoying it so much, as are we ours. The improvement in driveability over our B6 is amazing. We even got the same options as you and also decided lack of a sun roof wasn't a deal breaker.

Looks like the extra wait for you was worth it. You' got me excited and have just sent me rechecking and mine (sedan) was also a Dec 12 build and on the same boat as yours. It's only a 125 kw engine though

Must be a bit of a lottery. If its only software, I wonder how hard it is to get it upgraded although in reality, the car goes hard enough as it is.

I ended up getting paint and interior protection as part of the deal, was around the 4700 mark from memory.
