For those with armloads of shopping is the auto-boot system that responds to a deliberate kick beneath the bumper (provided you have the key) to automatically open the bootlid.
I heard from a delaer that this feature was only on the European models, not Oz.

Would be an excellent feature to have though.

Do you mind giving the exact specs and price you agreed, as well as expected delivery date. Thanks.

Yes, it would be a nice feature on the Passat sedan.... If the wagon can have the auto tailgate (which is great) then the sedan should have it's own foot swipe feature...

Yep, dropped into my local dealer over the weekend to have a sticky beak at the new CC. Had a play with this new boot opening feature on a V6 CC & quite liked it even though it was a little slower to activate than I was expecting.....

They wont call it a R25 or the like. It will just be a passat R to follow the R line of the golf, roc and soon to be sold in germany polo R.

                  You are not helping

If you still have it in a bunch of months let me know , I was thinking about the basic dumb system then anyway (for price and ease of installation reasons) although I was hoping you would have posted up all the trim management and installation steps for a B7... cant do it for the two months tho.

I don't really care what they call it, so long as it's made somewhere and is sold here

Poor Kiwis! That is just pure unadulterated greed! Not so much the base prices but the options. Holy crap!

Expensive, but they get many options not even available here. Colour MFD, KESSEY, climate controlled seats, sunblinds, etc. And my favourite - the dynamic light control - that is sensational!

Yeah, would love to hear the "logic" behind decisions like that. While I'm not quite sold on keyless entry systems due to security concerns (professional hazard, I suppose), I know my step-dad in Germany absolutely swears by them and I was able to see them in action - once you have one you wonder how you did without.

And DLC? Why would you NOT offer such a brilliant system here? Same goes for the retractable towbar. I don't understand the marketing decisions of VW Australia, I have to admit <stops here before he goes off on another Where Is The Bleedin Alltrack rant>

Is the Opel Insignia factoring into anyone's purchase ? e.g. perhaps VW dealers may be offering more discount when it comes out.

I think I'll wait until the Insignia comes out and see what the VW factory response is (if any).. it's damn hard waiting but hopefully it'll be worth it.

I reckon that Kessy will be on Passat MY14 as it is available on the CC MY13. I heard rumours that premium MFD was on CC but i don't think it is, easy retrofit at about $500.

I believe the towball is an ADR issue and did read that possiblity of Dynamic Light Assist being LHD only but the MY13 Passat in UK has it along with some other features like reading of road signs, side assist plus, climate control seats and massage seats.. bastards! They don't however get a V6.
