Leasing company just added it to their roster, though not yet with automated full quotes. Base price is about $43.5K, so minus GST in essence. Will be interesting what comes out of that with extras.

Passat Alltrack availability in Australia?
Just put a deposit down for an Icelandic grey alltrack with sunroof and sports pack. Got a few extras thrown in like roofracks, bike rack, luggage net, 20% extended warranty and few little bits. Pick up the car in January. Very excited!Daniel

I haven't read enough about the ACC for it to make it onto my must haves. Would love to see a comparo of the with/without.
Not much night time and little regular country driving so the zenons aren't a must have...Brilliant Silver Octavia Scout 2010

I figured you can always add led drls/tail lights and upgrade the headlights after. Bit harder to put a hole in your roofDaniel

Plus, as we *are* moving to a new country property and, boy, does it get dark out there, Xenons are also a must. Never mind that with age night vision just isn't what it once was.

A concern I have with the sunroof is that, at least in the past, it always took away from the interior height. A big no-no for tall folks like my wife and myself.

had automatic cruise control on a Mondeo and didn't like it. The gap was just too big (even set on the minimum) so everyone cut in on you & the car slowed more & more until you were doing 60kmh in a 110kmh zone. You know those days on the motorway when the traffic comes to a complete stop for no apparent reason - I'm convinced it's ACC vehicles jamming on their brakes & spooking the vehicles behind them.
Sunroof. Have one in the wife's Outback. I'm totally ambivalent about it.
Xenons - can't live without them. turning function is a bonus - love it.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

Well, we'd have to know whether the distance settings for the Mondeo were the same as the Passat uses. From threads on the German website, some folks have had to set theirs fairly high, because they felt uncomfortable with how close ACC let them get.
Be that as it may, that's precisely why I'd hope at least ONE dealer here in Melbourne would have a vehicle with it built-in. Pig in a poke and all that. I want to actually test the feature before I spend $$$ on it - and by that I mean on the freeway in action.
As for freeway stoppage... never attribute to technology what can be attributed to stupidity, to paraphrase that saying. I doubt there's enough vehicles with ACC-like technology to blame it on that. Well, unless they all have the crappy Mondeo-style implementation.

Wouldnt have a sunroof especially in Qld I wear glasses and if the sun is behind you it reflects off galsses back into your eyes.
Not much point in a sunroof if you have to keep the blind across.
