Considering how little there is holding the head unit in place it's amazing how much damage was done... but then it's not usually the deep end of the gene pool pulling them out now is it...

The B7 dash replaces the B6 dash. The old B6 dash is no longer available from VW.

Got my car in time for Christmas.
The new RNS unit has the '*' instead of the 'i' and the voice control. The startup logo was a black wallpaper VW background (not like the old one)..is this is the new LED unit? DOn't know the version as the secret menu is not enabled I think - tried holding the Setup button for a few min but only the Radio (FA + AM) is shown.
Got voice control enabled but w/o the mic.
The dash has the lights at the air vents but they didn't hook up the wires

Only issue is the Dynaudio is not setup in the system. The electricians computer went kaput and available only after a 3wk holiday
Anyone willing to help in the inner west? 0

I'd suggest visiting FHRX Studios down in Caringbah to get you sorted the rest of the way with ths unit. Marty has worked on plenty of VW vehicles including a couple of R36 models and he'll guarantee to look after your car. There's no finer car audio installer in NSW than FHRX and that's a fact, so much so that Lamborghini Sydney use him exclusively for specialised work from time to time.

I have seen Diys for installing the mic and Bluetooth. Looks possible enough.
