I have to thank you for posting this...

I shall be frantically calling my dealer about my Novermber delivered B7 .... I could not get the camera, so I hope that means it is going to be an MY12....

I am formerly from the Subaru fold, so I dont know the VAG calendar!

      Many Thanks

Not getting a RVC doesn't mean you get a MY12, MY12 doesn't mean you won't get RVC at all. It's a supply problem, not that VW is cutting corner. As soon as supply is back online, it will be offered again.

So best to check with your dealer what you are getting. My dealer told me all those who ordered RVC and receive a car without one will simply have money refunded, which personally I think is bulls**t. If I didn't want RVC I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Your dealer should have given you the opportunity to cancel order.

But generally I your car arrives late in the year, it should be a MY12.

          Thanks Vag

I will find out early next week if my order can be changed... I got told it is highly likely that I can.

They are "pretty confident" It is indeed an My12. So here is to hoping.

The only problem I have is I really want the sports kit, the seats and particularly the paddles.... but in order to keep it out of LCT territory I will need to delete the metalic... so it is likely to become white (cool with that i think white with the ultra dark windows will look cool)... but I really think that I like the standard V6 wheels whilst not too keen on the sports pack wheels...

In an upgrade package, does Volkswagen allow you to keep one element stock? Ie delete the wheel upgrade? (or sidegrade as they are the same size)

Starting to get excited about my future Volksie...

Volkswagen won't allow it but your dealer will likely be willing to organise a swap of the wheels for you at most likely no cost.

Going from 18s to 17s though will mean a change to suspension surely ?

                Howdy

Not sure if that was directed to me, but...

                New "sports pack" wheels are 18 x 8 standard V6 wheels are 18 x 8...

A TDI "sports pack" goes from 17s to 18s , spose that is why their sports pack kicks the tin so much harder...

Oh well, if the dealer wont swap them, at least I wont have to look at the wheels out the rear view mirror

                Cheers

                  Hey Guys

Does anyone know how the XLD works and what the benefits are?
I am currently about to upgrade from my MY09TDi wagon to the new Passat. Only minor issue I have is the Torque produced from the diesel can easily break traction when you take of in a hurry. much worse in the wet! If 4 motion was an option the the TDi it would be on the top of my list..

OK... I have have to thank Maverick for putting up this thread in the knick of time... so FANKSYA!

After looking at other makes I drove the Passat V6 when I realised I could get the bits I wanted (including Options) out of the former R36 at a price I can afford (and keep my lease out of LCT) without paying for things i didnt need...

The thing nailed my rational needs, (and my performance requirements), and outwardly looks like i have grown up and shaken my "fast car" tendancies... it was a much easier sell to my wife than a Redline SSV Wagon for example...

but from the test drive I hated the fact that you can't flick from Sport to manual without going through drive, and the fact that the tiptronic is backwards (minus should be forward so you punch the stick forward under brakes, and pull it back towards you when accelerating and changing up - not fighting inertia!!)... Flappy paddles fix that!

I also prefer bolstered seats, like my old WRX's... the standard ones are a bit flat, like flat flat!

Both things would have annoyed me every day I drove the car for eight years (four under the lease, then handmedown to the wife)

A day or so after joining this forum this thread appears! I was able to intercept my order after a week and block (Just!! - couple of days in it!!! )... after about three weeks of iterations through the quote, lease read tape, VW option conflict, re-quote, re lease red tape....)...

                    Finally!

Change of colour because of the black detail on the wheels (candy white works better with those wheels than silver), heck that pays for half the sports pack anyway...

Four weeks of stuffing around, but now eight years of not being annoyed every day by the lack of paddles...

now... I wonder if the sports pack has Launch Control...
