RNS 510 Upgrade

THe sat nav should "find" itself again soon. Mine was lost for a couple of hours, but then was fine.

Yeah my maps were all white/blank after the upgrade and thought they were gone, but after a short drive and pressing the various buttons it all came good.

Hey apom, sometimes my mute button on the wheel doesn't work. Most of the time it does. So I think you're not alone there.

Yep, if you touch the wheel buttons during start up they dont work for that session unless you stop and restart the car

Yep, went for a drive. At first it couldnt do the route, then when i reset the local position the maps where not showing but still getting directions. There were 2 icons on the screen, one was the North alignment indication (i think) and another one that i hadnt seen. so i pressed that and the maps returned!

The second icon would have been the "return to car's position" icon. That comes up when you move the map. Drag the map with your finger and it will appear...

Yep, without fail. It would be interesting to try it with the upgrade

Latest news on the RNS update.

All seems to be really good but have have a couple of glitches.

1. Pressing from Media to Radio once the whole system locked. Had to turn it off and then restart it a couple of times.
2. It has twice lost my presets in the Kufatec phone screen.
3. Seems to have fixed the delay on the steering wheel buttons not working if you press them during start up
4. SDHC works great

So overall worthwhile doing, especially if you have the rear camera.

I downloaded the firware upgrade from the above link and tried to update my factory fitted RNS510. What I got was a message Software downgrade error (010304)
Target loaded with Media Version -4764901
Inserted Media Version -4764901
So it seems to indicate to me that I have the same version installed as I tried to load, but reading thru a lot of posts on this site I should be able to read SD cards SDHC up to 32 GB but all I can read is SD of 2GB and I don't have the clock display or updated HDD display
Can anyone explain this.
PS I have a MY10 R36 with factory fitted RNS510 reversing camera and Standard bluetooth.
