As unfortunate and unlucky as all crashes are, they are never accidents. There is ALWAYS something that could have been done to prevent it.

If my example is flawed - then who is responsible for the crash/MVA ???
    • The car maker for lack of ESP
    • The lighter for not gripping in my hand properly
    • The girl for distracting my lap area
    • The beer manufacturer for having a mon-slip can
    • The bong maker for making that model difficult to light
    • The road authority for poor road design
    • etc etc etc

So many other factors can come into play that that list can be tripled.

Many accidents can be avoided but there are too many that are contributed to by circumstances beyond the individuals competency or circumstances.

        Back on topic:

Have we any views on the effectiveness on radar detectors ? And why are they banned ?

        Cheers

i have a Wistler in my car and i had radar detectors for the last 5 years. They are legal in WA and i think they work well. They do take a bit of time to get used to, they will beep at petrol stations, and other things that have self opening doors. Mine beeps at only one Toyota dealer every time i drive past, and they have normal doors for ther showroom
