    Lifters

    If it is;

    What oil do you use?
    What filter do you use?
    Do you do short trips?
    Does it go away after driving for a while?

      when did you tune - up your engine ?n:

      It could be a valve ticking..easy to be fix and no cost to much..

      Is it a diesel engine ?

        lol nnot diesel, and no tune.

        i'v noticed that it ticks when the engine is warm.
        also its time for engine oil change, every 7500. which oil should i be using? it has 127000 and i think the last time i used 10w50 or something similar.

        so how do u fix the valves ticking?

            it'll deffinately be the tappets sticking, which can be either replaced or, recoed by you...
            ref..
            I know it's from another forum but this is really useful and I'm sure I'll need to do this myself sometime soon. I remember I asked vw for the price of tappets for my 16v about a year ago and they wanted 85 dollars each...........imagine that x16...... Now I can have the same effect with the cost of some new gaskets(which I

              I did an oil flush on my car which cleaned up the ticking noise a lot.

                The problem most likely is your oil pick up is full of slug which staves the top of the motor of oil this is because thats the last place the oil reachs. If i was you i would pull the sump off clean the pickup and the go from there its a cheap exercise to do. just my 2 bobs worth

                  I would go with this, then put a genuine filter on and some Mobil 1 oil.
