R36 Ordered June - Arrives November

Hi there. I ordered a Biscay Blue with Sunroof and Sat Nav on June 6th. I was told November delivery.

I was told that it depended on what dates the run in the factory was, options chosen and after that shipping dates. The salesman looked up dates on the computer.

I could have got a white one without Sat Nav almost straight away. I would have grabbed it, but I really wanted the factory fitted Sat Nav.

Now the wait. I'm like a child waiting for Xmas and can't stand it and sooo much longer to go.

Steve, if the satnav was the only thing the white didnt have then it's a no brainer...all it is is swapping the head unit over for a satnav unit as all of the other stuff is already there (e.g. antenna, ECU software, etc). I know that a dealer in Melb did it for someone a couple of months ago.

        good luck.

Hahaha! DAMN! I wanted a white one first but would have had to order one so settled for Biscay Blue (which I also like) with SatNav. Ironically, had I ordered, I would not have ordered with SatNav. Still, I couldn't be happier. Delivery time: 4 days!

The dealer said that I'm better off getting it factory fitted because of rattles, etc. In any case, my10 instead of my09 might mean a couple of grand difference when I sell it in the future

nope - appearance will be the same. features will be the same. less kms will mean more resale but not MY10 over MY09. Well, not to the MAJORITY anyway.

I know there is insignificant difference between them. I'm just trying to find a bright spot in having to wait so damn long. The little bit of difference in resale value is all I can find. I'm so jealous every time I see one on the road.

                  Hi Rocket,
Did it have the sunroof and when did you order? Please don't say "yes" and early June.

                      Hi All,

I am new to the forum. The info on the forum is great!

I am currently negotiating on purchasing an R36 at the moment.

Was informed today that the next production build date for Australia is Week 45 (November) and delivery would be at best Jan 2010.

I have wanted one of these cars since December 2006 so waiting another 6 months won't kill me

Yep!!! My lease was up on the Liberty and had to buy a new car! Went in looking at a R32 5 door, almost bought it at $61K, 45minutes later signed on the dotted line for a black R36 for $65K. I wanted icelandic grey, and had to wait 4 months, settled for black and picked it up in 5 days
Then I put my Liberty on Carsales and sold it in 3 hours and made $9K Can't beat that!!!!

                          Hey mugwomp rest assured

After working as a fleet manager and about to change over to my 21st vehicle personally I can tell you the MY build dates makes a substantial diff in resale EVERYTIME!! regardless of what features have changed for the vast majority.

agreed!! even with 1 month in year difference the resale of the newer year always higher. This is for most cars
But, with R36s as we have seen for MY08 and MY09 there arent much in the gap! they are just too special and on the rarer side so 1 year difference doesnt mean much.

Still think my Silver is better
Nah, they r all good. Love your blue and 4 day wait was not too bad.
Oh!! remember I mentioned the RS6 a few posts 2 weeks ago?
Yeah I bloody test drove it again, just cannot get over the performance. But they look bland thats the prob, also my wife is another prob since our 36 is still new.

Yep, I've known a few people in the car trade over the years. Start with the year and kilometres, check the reference, then look at the condition, etc.
