  • R36 MY10 Waiters - ?Delivery times

    Hi Everyone,

For the guys currently like us awaiting delivery on an MY10 R36, has anyone been given an estimated delivery date yet? Our dealer contact is apparently still awaiting confirmatory info from VWA HQ re: build dates and consequent estimated delivery from there.

Anyone managed to get firmer info from their dealer?
Thanks! - Not getting desperate of course!

PS - to clear up some misconceptions around the MY10 spec... I've been told we are not getting ANY mechanical updates - just some minor detail changes and some extra options. R36 wagons to get newly designed luggage tie-down hooks, gooped self-sealing tyres (NOT runflats ). I'm assured R36 will keep it's current steering wheel & HVAC, not a la Passat CC (though non-R36's may get the new wheel).

      So... MY09 owners rest assured

I am preparing for a MINIMUM of four months given other's experiences on this forum - so I'm kind of hoping someone else has slightly better news

Only speaking from 2nd hand experience from a mate with a current BMW 3 Series on 18" wheels - very stiff ride on runflats - got much better ride switching to conventional tyres... but of course got stranded after running over a nail (no spare!).
Oh yes, and apparently the run-falts are much more expensive to replace and difficult to come by outside of major cities.

some of the earlier R36 owners waited longer than that....much longer.

if it helps, ordered mine 06/06/08 and got it on 28/11/08 so sounds like your eta sounds about right.

I have researched / been told that the R36 MY2010 will in fact have ZERO changes to the MY09 spec for Australia which is also what has been spec'd for the UK 2010 R36 - ie no changes at all - no extra - no self sealing tyres - nothing different. Other passat my 2010 models will however have extras / differences. R36 and Bluemotion to stay unchanged.

Thanks for your info Ozr36. Would have placed our order around the same time so hopefully our vehicle has made the same build run. September was roughly when we were initially advised for delivery, pending further confirmation. Cheers.

Radius and Ozr36 get the VIN numbers from your dealer and track it via the shipping company out of Germany. link somewhere in the forum....I ordered a V6Highline w1 in April and has left the port July 14th due to me week 1 september. You can follow its journey around the world - very cool.

Yes indeed I did this previously with my Golf GTI knew before the dealer did that it was with Patricks.
