Mine was up around that mark when I first bought the car, and only drove it around town for the first couple of weeks. Probably didnt help that my right foot was buried in the carpet most of the time.
I recall a V8 stateman I owned a while back - 5.0L engine and managed about 20L/100 in town!!
I think 12L/100 in town and 9.6/100 on the highway is respectable given the cars purpose.Confirmed Global Warming Sceptic. No Longer a VW Owner -Loving my new 2011 Range Rover Sport - bought as VW unable to provide info on the new Toureg despite it being released overseas 12 mths ago. 2008 R36 Wagon, 2006 GTI and 2004 R32 - Gone. Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers

I did some Highway miles after this and its back to 400km a tank. I do have the right foot planted a LOT as i get sick of idiots doing 80 in the right lane when its 100 so i blow past them and go back to cruise.....
