What better excuse for a drive along the Putty Rd!

Push for a Sat Nav replacement...

I had mine replaced late last year with great sucess, previously mine also crashed out in the area of goulburn - tumbarumba & all of Canberra.

Feel free to use my rego (NBG83K) when talking to your dealer, VW Australia has a massive case file on my car regarding this issue.

same in Sawyers Valley - Perth WA

I call it the "Bermuda Triangle"

          also get
"No routes found for this destination"
          when entering
          a) Yalgoo from Perth City
          b) Northam

but when getting closer <20km from location, unit locks in.

          Tues 4 Aug
          fixed by Osborne Park Volkswagen
          now working OK.

Another one - recent trip to Sydney with two VW's in convoy - 2 x RNS510's (one factory fit, the other retrofit) both crashed at the exact same spot - on the way to Sydney & also on the return journey.

            Weird eh?

              Folks

May be totally unrelated, but I discovered that my RNS510 crashes and reboots with a nasty "pop" thru the speakers when my 'phone shuts down on low battery. It is linked via the basic VW bluetooth.

Kloster VW in Newcastle are aware of this and can provide the fix. Sure it was discussed on this forum somewhere previously

Volkswagen tells me Version 3 SatNav discs are on their way. I'm told this fixes the Bermuda Triangle.

i'm hoping you're right. Mine died a week ago and died properly. No GPS. No music. Nothing. Local VW dealer has a whole new unit on order. What I heard though was that the fix (a new Whereis disc) isn't due to late 2010.

Version 3 Disc is available now and rumour is that they are supposed to fix the Wyong Bermuda Triangle issue.

Anyone installed version 3 and done the Sydney Newcastle drive yet to see if the rumoured fix has worked?
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

I was wrong. I got my new GPS & Stereo today and they loaded in the V3 software. i'm going to Sydney next week so we'll soon see if the problem is fixed.

V3 is mostly the same but colours are all different on display now. I cant' see the GPS directions in my MFD but i remember seeing a blog on that in here somewhere so i need to look that one up.

                          cheers

I drove from Sydney to Nambucca Heads and back and didn't have a problem on the F3 or around the Hunter valley.. There are some new roadworks north of Bulahdelah where the display was 'Off Road' but other than that there were no problems. Oh, I have V3 BTW...
