Back to topic. Took car in for recall. They looked at the stereo and said it had dropped the codes. Ther redid the codes and all seemed fine for a day.
This morning I get in the car and the same problem again. I took it back and they swapped over for another (used) head unit, with no mp3, in about 5 minutes for me to try.
If it works all okay over the weekend they'll replace the head unit with a new one. I'm guessing it might be the newer model but not sure.Comment

The inconsistant quality issues continue.
Most of the motoring journos agree that VW quality is a bit of a hit and miss affair.
