      • 2/3 of the way through the clear now. A few kamikaze bugs have decided to immortalise themselves in the clear, but no biggies so far.

        • Exhausted now, I was spraying that clear for hours today.

          Did the bumpers too.

Put a few bits back on already.

Entered it in DOVW! Next weekend's gonna be busy! 3 cars to prep.

Oh, did I mention that the headlights are a common part that you can still buy new?

It's an unusual setup, the outers are low beam and parkers only and the inners are the high beam.

Front grill has a silver paint strip that needed re-doing.

I'm not going to bother making anything work for DOVW, just enough so I can drive it off the trailer.

          Pete

                  • That beetle's been in the background for way too long

The pan is done and we have most of the bits now, it's a '59, semaphores, big back window, "snow flake" tail lights and 36 glorious horsepower.

                      • Getting there, trying to get a least a few small things done each nidght after work.

Got the grills and front bumper in tonight.

Installed a NOS Driver's door handle and re-keyed a S/H one to match for the passenger side.

Converted a RHR door handle to LHR.

Door handles are all the Chrome type but there's a mixture of "push in" and "push down" handles because of the mix of late and early doors. Took a bit to come up with a complete set.

Already had a stockpile of new handle gaskets to go on.

There's still a chrome trim to go on that bumper yet.
