Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Considering V6 CC after looking around for B7 Passat V6

Have been looking around at B7 V6 Passats for a while - both sedan or wagon - but not finding the options im after (Sports Pack w/Bi-Xenons, RNS510) I'm now considering a CC instead which has them as pretty much standard.

Ive had a quick look thru here but its def more quiet than the B6/7 Forums.

Any CC specific issues not common to the B6/7 V6 that I should be aware of?
DSG noises and V6 timing chain noises would carry across obviously.

    Cheers & thanks in advance,
    Owen

If you really want a wagon/sedan the RNS510 is very easy to retrofit.
Xenons however is a bigger task.
Pretty much anything else pertaining to a B6/B7 applies to CC depending on year/engine combo of course.

RNS510 wasn't a make or break. Have had it in the touareg and Highline wagon - more often I use google maps on my phone.

The sedan/wagon had more of a sleeper look to it than the CC, which was part of the appeal.
