Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Stage 3 Arteon

Well it has been a long time waiting but I have dropped my Arteon off @CarbonAutohaus today for the stage 3 upgrade & Galano E85 flex tune.

Been driving the car around on a stage 1 APR for a few months while waiting for things to happen & have to say that was pretty good managed to get a 12.5 @ 110mph.

I'll keep you updated on the build as I get info & pics, also doing BBK went with Alcon 6 pot 380mm disk.

Well it's been a long process & I just got the call to say my car is now running on flex fuel 98/E85, so all going well I'll be taking it to the track tomorrow night to see the power improvements that going from 98 to E85 make on the 1/4 mile, also the Haldex controller is now installed so i'll prob d a few runs dialling in the extra traction

Did you end up taking it out the other evening? I'd love to know how it went, and also how practical it goes as a daily driver once you've driven stage 3 for a bit.

No, sadly. Apparently the Arteon runs a different fuel pump & Galano is making a prototype to test, the car is getting built nest week, so TTV5 turbo new intercooler new engine oil cooler & gearbox oil coolers, downpipe, the rest of the parts are already on the car. New fuel pump should be ready in a week or so & when done Galano will put in the proper tune & then it's go time. Shaun from Carbon Autohaus & Chris from Galano Engineering have put a lot of time & work into this, for what ever reason VW Arteon has different ECU & a few other parts to Gold R so nothing was easy but for the most part they overcome everything so far.
Also the haldex controller is in.
The car is on paper good for a 10.7 @ around 130mph so lets hope it gets there & maybe a little faster, should be very streetable & smooth to drive.
I'll keep you up to date as things happen.

ID:	1860673Been a long process but happy to see progress finally, these Arteon's are a different beast & every step seems to want to fight you. As you can see most of the front is missing they are installing racingline engine & dsg oil coolers even though there are small coolers fitted standard, turbo is off sitting on the ground downpipe is off new intercooler is sitting waiting to go in, it's all going on now, the car has been running on Galano flex tune fir a few weeks with all the standard gear so now we can put all the good gear on & see what this puppy can produce.

Yeah mate, So the car now has all parts installed & is running on a Galano flex tune, though there is still an issue with fueling as the high pressure pump isn't a direct bolt in.
My car has spent more time this past 12 months with Carbon Autohaus but I ma sure when finished it will be a beast. Feel free to find them on either FB or Insta & look for updates as they post.
PS the alcon bbk looks trick

PPS hopefully I am looking for around 500hp atw & wil run into the 10's all while being very drivable on the street.
