Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Far out! That throttle response mod is the BEST! The lag/doughy responsiveness from the throttle is gone. The car feels like how my Golf R felt like after I got it reflashed with an aftermarket fuel map. The throttle response in the Arteon is now far FAR better. It actually feels more sporty rather than just this "glide you along" saloon.
    My car: MY18 Arteon
My car #2: MY22 Volvo XC40 Pure Electric
Her car: MY22 Skoda Octavia Limited Edition Wagon

Would love to see your work up coding on this one . When i attempted it mine spat the dummy and got two warnings come up on the dash.

Friend told me about this - remove the snow guard for better air intake (and a little more turbo noise).
      Looks easy enough.

I've just done this mod. Whole thing took about 15min. The longest part of the exercise is undoing, and redoing up all the screws holding the top of the airbox in.

You'll need a T25 tool to undo the screws. The snow guard literally just lifts out. Pull it from the very edges gently. Don't pull it from the plastic sections in the middle - they break very easily (I broke one). It doesn't matter though as I don't plan on ever putting it back in. Not unless it starts snowing in Brisbane. LOL

Has that made any noticeable difference?

I would say it feels a bit like i did the Audi mod again, slight turbo noise increase and spool up and throttle responce

Can you tell me where you go the mod-kit from or did you assemble it yourself- together with K&N plus snow baffle delete from the airbox, I'm keen on fitting this to my new arteon... cheers,

THANKS Blackpaladin67, Going on the hunt for those parts now... (post edit) goods arrived in 5 days from the UK.. (amazing)- all fitted in under 10min- subjectively, I feel it spools up a bit faster with less lag and quicker throttle response- I feel it was worthwhile and glad I did it- cheers again.
